Breaking news many times has changed the way in which we view the world. One investigative journalist of such notable mention is Jane Mayer. Mayer works for the New Yorker. Recently she has written articles about topics such as the Bin Laden family, Sarah Palin, and Dick Cheney. She is knowledgeable in politics, legal issues and war crimes. She often looks into topics that most of us prefer to avoid. No one wants to think about dark issues such as war crimes. Mayer not only wants to know about these topics but wants to share what she has learned. Mayer has been awarded the John Chancellor Award for Excellence in Journalism for her investigative reporting.
We can all learn something from investigative reporters such as Mayers. The simple task of asking questions and wondering why. Beyond just asking these questions, to explore and attempt to find answers. As a mom I hope that my children always take the time to go beyond what is known to find out more.
